Jar of chutney/pickle – minimum 2 months old (please state spicy or sweet)
Chutney should be thick dark and soft - a consistency acquired with long cooking time! You should be able to draw a spoon across the bottom of the pan at the end of cooking. You can’t really cook a chutney for too long.
Leave ½” space in the top of the jar of a vinegar product.
Do not use wax discs for vinegar-based preserves.
